Second Two-Book Contract Signed

Author John R. Corrigan has recently announced that two additional Jack Austin mysteries, the fourth and fifth in the series, will be published in 2005 and 2006.

Bad Lie will debut in hardcover in the fall of 2005 and Double Cross slated for the next autumn. The University Press of New England will publish both novels under its Hardscrabble Crime fiction imprint. The books follow Cut Shot (Sleeping Bear Press, 2001), Snap Hook (UPNE, March 2004), and Center Cut (UPNE, October 2004).

Though UPNE is known for its Hardscrabble line of fiction, Corrigan's novels are the press's first mystery series. "John's ability to combine interesting characters, an exciting plot, and an engaging, thoroughly realized setting offered everything we look for in a Hardscrabble novel," said UPNE acquiring editor John Landrigan.
